What We Believe

  1. We believe that the Bible is essential for those who want to honor God with their lives. It has the power to lead us and guide us. The Bible answers questions like:
    • What is truth?
    • Why am I on earth?
    • Does God exist?
    • Who was Jesus?
  1. We believe that real life is found in a living, present-tense relationship with Jesus Christ, who walked the earth 2,000 years ago and is still alive today. Jesus said, “Unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). He also said, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:31-32).
  2. We believe that God’s family needs weekly reunions! So we gather together every Sunday to encourage each other, listen to God, and give our lives over to Him. God’s family, the Church, is made up of those who are disciples of Jesus and have committed themselves to building the Kingdom of God on earth. It is open to all believers. Considerations of class or race, education or pedigree, wealth or prestige do not enter. What is required is that one be “born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).
  3. We believe that God is present on earth today in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit changes our hearts, gives us power to live a life honoring God, shows us the path God has for us, and gives gifts to the people of the Church so that they might do the work God has for them.
  4. We believe that Jesus brings freedom! He gives us freedom from sin (or our rebellion from God) and moves us into a whole new experience of obedience and LIFE. The freedom of God allows us to bring different approaches to the truth of Scripture within the context of good Bible study methods and historical Christianity. This freedom is not a freedom from responsibility or accountability to each other, but a freedom that draws us into community with each other. We are proud members of…
